Nina Simone은 1933년에 태어나 2003년에 세상을 떠난

재즈 가수 겸 피아니스트 겸 인권 운동가로, 

그 당시 흑인으로서는 드물게 줄리아드 음대에서

클래식 피아노를 전공한 재원으로 알려져 있습니다.

그리고 흔히 재즈 뮤지션으로 분류되나 재즈 외에

소울, 포크, 리듬 앤 블루스, 가스펠, 팝 등

다양한 음악 장르를 넘나든 실력파 가수입니다.
